The place was very cute. It looked like someone put money into the decor. They should put money into their staff. We waited 20 minutes for anyone to come to our table and even longer for our food, which wasn't bad. I did have a hard time eating because I took my kids to the bathroom and it was filthy and out of toilet paper, even though an employee was in there before us. Going upstairs to the bathroom, the steps were gross and there was a large collection of flies on the very visible window sill. Our server was sliding around on the floor instead of walking because it was so dirty. I had to get up and ask him for refills. Servers complained the entire time (about tips, fighting over who had to clean bathrooms, why didn't they have their food yet) in the earshot of customers. Plenty of potential, very disappointing.
The service was lacking the say we went (Waited 30+ minutes on food, from the time the first meal arrived at our table of 7 it was another 15 minutes before everyone was served. Part of my order was forgotten completely). But I believe that issue all revolved around our waitress. The food itself made things better. I would return and give it another go.
I would recommend the mac & cheese, it was very rich, creamy and had a great flavor.
This place is worth missing. Big anticipation, bigger disappointment. We waited in line for 25 minutes, then got shuffled to the highest deck level into a room they clearly were not anticipating using. It was like they were surprised to actually have customers show up? People arriving at 9AM on a Saturday in June shouldn't take you by surprise. They had to turn on the lights and get someone up there to actually wait on us. The staff was polite and all, but clearly other forces were at work slowing down the process.
The food wasn't so bad, which is a shame considering the rest of the issues. The last straw on the camel's back was when we were standing downstairs again waiting to pay. Saw a cook take a tray of food out of a cooler behind the counter and put it right smack on the floor to get something else that was behind it. Complete disregard for food sanitation, if he ever really took the class. Ugghhh...
Food was great but the wait was outrageous. 20 min to get seated 25 min to get waited on then another 45 min for food. Not sure where the issues were it didn't seem like they were understaffed more like the servers and manager didn't care.
Visiting from Florida, and I have to say, this was a wonderful gem to discover during my stay. Excellent service, and our waitresses all had great attitudes! Prices are a little bit on the higher side, but in my opinion it is absolutely justified. Quantity is excellent and the quality of the food is superb! Thank you, Wild Bacon! You will be sorely missed!
